The Diptera that affect bur oak acorns were represented by parasites of Lepidoptera and by secondary inviders, such as Drosophilidae and Mycetophilidae, that fed on the decaying fungus-infected nut or on the residue of frass and detritus left by Lepidoptera and Coleoptera
