Abstract: | The first data on the Fungus gnats fauna of Chukotka are presented. 170 species belonging to the fami- lies Bolitophilidae, Diadocidiidae, Keroplatidae and Mycetophilidae were reported during two field seasons in 2013 and 2014 in the lower course of the Anadyr River. Eight species are reported from Russia for the first time, two species are new for the Palaearctic and 27 species were previously unknown in the eastern part of the Palaearctic; 28 species are most probably undescribed taxa. Widely distributed circumpolar and transpalaearctic species dominate the fauna, but there is also considerable number of species previously known only from northern Europe. Sixteen pre- sumably undescribed species of the subfamilies Sciophilinae, Gnoristinae and Mycetophilinae may be tentatively considered as Chukotka endemics. |
