Göttingen, June 8-21, 2008
On June 8-21 I visited Geoscience Centre of the University of Göttingen, Museum, Collections & Geopark . My main purpose was to study F. Meunier's types of Sciaroidea. In 1899-1923 he described 169 species of Sciaroidea (without Sciaridae). Königsberg collection of amber had very unfortunate history. Evacuated from Königsberg during WWII, it was hidden in a salt mine, which got flooded. Then the boxes were discovered by British troops in West Germany and stored at one of the military bases.
