236 specimens of Sciaridae were collected during a day’s excursion
in the Harz mountains. 30 species belonging to 8 genera were identified.
One new species, Bradysia pugiata spec nov., is described and illustrated.
Additionally, 18 species are recorded for the first time from the
Federal State of Saxonia-Anhalt. Two of them, Corynoptera crassistylata
(Frey, 1948) and Corynoptera hemiacantha Mohrig & Mamaev, 1992 are
new to the fauna of Germany. A check-list for Saxonia-Anhalt is given
based upon the new nomenclature and systematics by Menzel & Mohrig
(2000).
