Diadocidia
Diagnostic description:
Adults with head with tree ocelli; antenna with
scape, pedicel and 14 flagellomeres. Thorax hunchbacked. Coxae
elongated. Wings without dark markings; wing membrane covered with
macrotrichia; Sc ending in C or free; crossveins r-m and M-Cu forms a
straight vertical line. Abdomen narrow. (Rindal & Gammelmo, 2007;
Oosterbroek 2006) Larvae enclosed in a slimy tube; antenna
rudimentary with one segment; no locomotory pads; larvae with
spiracles; epicraniel plates not meeting on ventral surface (Madwar,
1937). For identification of species careful studies of genitalia is needed.
