Lygistorrhina legrandi (after Matile, 1990)
Male. Head: occiput and ocellar callus brown-black. Antennae a little shorter than head and thorax together. Scape and pedicel yellow, flagellum: first flagellomere brown, broadly yellow at base,flagellomeres 2-4 light brown, 5-6 - yellow, 7-11 - dark brown, 12-13 - yellow, 14 - brown. Flagellomeres monoliform, except 13, which is twice longer than wide, and 14 - three times longer than wide. Proboscis yellow, very long, reaching almost four times the length of fore coxae.
Thorax: Scutum and scutellum velvety brown, mediotergite shiny brown, pleures brownish.
Legs: Coxae brown, the anterior a little clearer. Fore femur yellow-grayish, mid femur slightly browned, hind - bicolourous, yellow in basal half, brown in apical. Tibiae yellow, hind tibia sharply darkened at apex. Tibia III not clubbed, but regularly thickened from base to apex. Spurs brown; external and internal of mid tibia of the same length, as long as apical width of tibia, external spur of hind tibia slightly shorter than the internal. Fore and mid tarsi long and slender, yellow, hind tarsi brown, the basitarsus slightly thickened, tarsomeres progressively thinned.
Wings hyaline with brown spots. A strong spot in the apex of R5, the rest of the apex smoky until just after M2, a broad weak spot extending between R5 and M4; Cu1b strongly smoky, especially at apex. Costal extends beyond R5 on three quarters of the interval R5-M1, not reaching the apex of the wing. Sc short, free at apex. Branches of the front fork sinuous at apex, M 4 interrupted at the base but distinctly convergent to Cu1b. Halters yellow.
Abdomen: segment I entirely brown, segments II-VI brown, tergites closely marked with yellow at the base, the sternites wider. Tergite VII entirely brown, sternite slightly yellowed at the base.
Hypopygium brown-black except yellow proctiger and gonostylus. Tergite IX roughly oval, almost as long as gonocoxal synsclerite, with long scattered setae, those of the apical margin shorter and tighter, forming a brush with indistinct boundaries.Proctiger small, apical in position. Gonocoxal synsclerite with ventral V-shaped incision reaching almost the base. Gonostyli simple, apical setae shorter and tighter, a very distinct black apical tooth. Variations: The paratype has the femora III slightly brown at the base.
Length of wing: 2.3 mm.
