Mycomya nakanishii
Mycomya nakanishii belongs to the subgenus Cymomya. It is a dark species, without the typical contrasting colour pattern of most species of the subgenus. It is quite similar to the Nepalese M. paguma Väisänen (2013: figs. 6A–C) in having a short and rounded sternal submedian appendage and its sternal submedian filament being longer than the sternal lateral appendage. The setosity of the sternal synsclerite extends widely from the apex to the middle part in M. paguma, whereas only the apical third of sternal synsclerite has setae in M. nakanishii (excluding the small, thin setae along the submedian margins). The sternal lateral appendage of M. paguma (Väisänen 2013a: fig. 6B) is relatively larger and longer than in M. nakanishii, when the appendage is compared to the apical submedian extension of the sternal synsclerite on the other (medial) side of the base of gonostylus. The sternal submedian filament of M. paguma is very long, extending beyond the apex of the gonostylus, unlike in M. nakanishii.
