Mycomya shimai
Look alikes:
Mycomya shimai belongs to the subgenus Calomycomya (based on the presence of the curved spur of the coxa 2 and the tergal fork of the hypopygium) and is the only known representative of the subgenus from the South East Asian islands. Calomycomya is a widely distributed subgenus in the Palaearctic, Nearctic and Neotropical regions, with three species known from the Himalayas (Väisänen 2013a). It differs from the other species of the subgenus in the almost H-shaped tergal fork with lateral lobes curved inwards and in its characteristic gonostylus, with two long, slender branches.
